Starting September 7, 2017, the Instructional Technology Resource Teachers will be offering online training courses through a combination Google Classroom modules, YouTube Live, and in person training.
These trainings will follow two distinct professional development tracks, the first of which will be a preparation class for taking and passing the Google Certified Educator: Level 1 Assessment. In this training series, participants will learn the skills necessary to implement Google's G Suite for Educationapps effectively into instruction and will also delve into uses of these tools as they apply to various teaching methods. This training series will be conducted by Daniel Vanover, Jesse Roberts, and Jason Hicks and participants who complete all training modules and complete all course work will be awarded 30 professional development points for recertification. An extra 3 points will be added this amount for any participant who takes and passes the Google Certified Educator: Level 1 Assessment.
The second training opportunity will focus on SMART products such SMART Notebook and SMART Amp, a digital canvas that will allow teachers to create interactive content and materials for students to use on various devices throughout the school division. This training series will be conducted by Kevin Marcus and participants who complete all training modules and complete all course work will be awarded 15 professional development points for recertification.
